Butterfly house in Navarre reopens for Summer
One of the areas favorite seasonal attractions opens this Thursday~
The Panhandle Butterfly House is opening for its 2012 season this Thursday, May 24, 2012. The Panhandle Butterfly House has been a popular local attraction since opening in May 1997. It's located at 8581 Navarre Parkway, Navarre, FL 32566 at the foot of the Navarre Beach Bridge.
The butterfly house will be open Thursday through Saturday through early Fall. Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. Group tours (10+ people) are available Monday- Wednesday with appointments.
The butterfly house is an amazing educational exhibit with dozens of live butterflies on display and can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages. The building is surrounded (inside and out) by beautiful gardens.
The Butterfly House is composed of two different areas. The first is an indoor museum of mounted butterflies and other educational displays. The second is a large screened in gazebo room with plush vegetation throughout. Butterflies scatter throughout while visitors observe them in their natural habitat.
I really enjoyed my visit to the Butterfly House. We spent about 25 minutes total exploring and observing butterflies and then went to Navarre park to finish off a fun (Free) afternoon.
