Moving? Here's how to avoid long holiday lines at the Post Office.

To ensure your moving process goes smoothly, you should properly submit your change of address form with USPS, the United States Postal Service.

How to change your address with the United States Postal Service~
There are a few ways to complete a temporary or permanent change of address:

1. Online at their website using this link.
Please note, the USPS requires a valid email address and a credit card to complete this process online. There is a $1.00 verification charge for this process.

2. File your change of address form using the telephone. Call 1-800-275-8777 to change your address. There is a $1.00 verification charge for this process as well.

3. By visiting your local post office branch and completing a valid change of address form- PS Form 3575. There is no charge for this service at your post office. Better yet- Save yourself a step and print the necessary form here. Once completed and signed, you can hand this to your mail carrier or drop it in any USPS box!

Remember- The USPS suggests that you put in your change of address 2 weeks prior to moving.
