Art Show & Market in one
While the Palafox Market is the best place to buy local produce, produce is not the only reason to come to Palafox Market.
Think of the Market as a free art show, too! Local vendors and artists have their goods on display and for sale. You can find virtually every type of art including antiques, paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry, crafts including gifts, hand sewn items, clothing, pottery, soaps, candles, lotions, "green" items, and much more.
Take this guy below for example- he is a local artist who hand crafts stringed instruments with a unique style, sound and look.

Preparing for your visit to Palafox Market
1.
Pack your reusable shopping bag. It's the green thing to do!
2.
Make sure to have cash. To avoid hefty ATM fees nearby, stock up on cash as most vendors only accept cash.
3.
Be patient while trying to find parking. While parking isn't hard to find early in the morning, by around noon, the parking situation downtown can become intense. Many Saturdays, other events are held downtown which may cause traffic nearby so plan where you intend to park ahead of time, pump enough gas, and enjoy the ride.
Tip: Check out this valuable map on the
Palafox Market's website which shows parking available nearby, other shops open on Saturday in downtown, and ATM's nearby.

Residents come from all over
Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties in Florida and
Baldwin County in Alabama to visit the market. In fact, the Palafox Market won an award in 2011 for being one of America's Favorite Farmers Market. We love our trips to the Palafox Market and are thankful that its home is in nearby downtown Pensacola.
